Local author George W Munro is a retired 8o year old who has just discovered writing books. His first, Thalathah, a story of three brothers entangled in a web of loyalty, deceit, betrayal, espionage, and murder, was published in July 2025. His second novel, Salt & Flint, has just been published, and explores the life of a Mesolithic tribe in the Borneo rainforest.
Born in Chichester to an English father and Armenian mother, George spent his early childhood exploring Egypt, Cyprus, Malaya and Libya. He wrapped up his education at a private school in Sussex before joining the British Army. During his military career, he was involved in several operations in the Middle East, the Far East, Cyprus, including Northern Ireland.
